During 2004-05, PTL had taken steps to setup a Polyester film plant in Turkey and had for this purpose formed a Company in Turkey, Polyplex Europa Polyester Film San. Ve Tic. A.S. (PE). Over a period of 2-3 years, PE has also set up almost matching facilities for manufacture of PET films, PET chips and Metallized Films. An investment in a PET film line, Polyester chips line and Metallised film line has been approved by the PTL board for Turkey, in July 2010, and is expected to be commissioned in 15-18 months from financial closure.
In May 2011, the board of PTL approved the relocation of the Thin PET film line investment which was earlier planned for implementation in Turkey, to USA.
